Crufts, Cabbages & Peas: explore the angel at Islington.
11th October 2025
The ‘Great Wen’ of London grew around and engulfed Islington as it expanded from the historic centre, yet the area still preserves a distinct individual character. The Angel, an inn once a staging point for Royal Mail coaches, gave its name to the tube station name and takes a place on the Monopoly board game. Come on a walk through the area to discover what Marie Lloyd got up to among the cabbages, the venue for the first Cruft’s Dog Show (in 1891) and some unusual house guardians.
