This walk from Poplar Dock to Canary Wharf examines the birth of the docks, their eminence and decline. After the shipping had left, the area gradually took on new life from development as a financial centre, so towards the end of the walk we shall see some of London’s finest modern architecture. On the way you can discover splendid views of the riverside, a pillar design inspired by a teacup and an 869 foot long hall that was intended to be under water.
