Guided London Walks
Horseferries & Horticulture: uncovering the history of Victoria.
Discover 14th century buildings once used by the ancient Westminster monastery, under the walls of the abbey church where Geoffrey Chaucer spent his final years. Residents of the 18th century terraced houses nearby have included Harold Wilson, Lawrence of Arabia, John Geilgud, Siegfried Sassoon and John Reith. The area extends over what was once poorly drained farmland, famous as a quiet spot for picnics and not-so-quiet duelling. See a moral outrage by Jacob Epstein and the ugliest office building in central London.
